The Art Collection Telekom has been an ongoing project for the past 4 years, and it is now for the first time revealing a selection of their gathered artworks in the Fragile Sense of Hope Exhibition. With its incipient collecting activities, Deutsche Telekom aims both to follow the exciting artistic developments as they continue to unfold in the countries of Eastern Europe and to shed light on the social and political changes that have occurred since the collapse of the Iron Curtain. Community Clash! is a bimonthly group art exhibition featuring a selection of Berlin-based artists within the Artconnect Berlin network. Together with a variety of creative spaces, Artconnect Berlin is looking forward to feature the best artists from our community at the Community Clash! For this very special fifth edition we are working together with the SomoS Art House and with three amazing artists, who despite having very different styles, find a common ground: portraits in drawing.
We went to IFA Berlin 2014! Wohoo! If you don’t know yet, IFA is the global consumer electronics trade show, and it is taking place in Berlin from the 5th to the 10th of September. With 1500 exhibitors and 240,000 visitors from over a 100 countries in 2013, IFA is the only fair in the world to offer such a comprehensive overview of the international market of consumer electronics and home appliances. What glorious weather in Berlin at the moment! Summer’s been back for a few days, so we thought we’d grab the chance to have a wander down East Side Gallery, check out the special works of the 148 international artists on display and visit the selfie box of Microsoft introducing the new Nokia Lumia 735. We were lucky enough to have a chat to one of the artists and also the press officer of East Side Gallery e.V. He took the time to get us fully clued-up on the fascinating history of the Berlin Wall.
This Monday we’ve got a very special opportunity for ya! Up until the 31st of July 2014, creatives from all over the world have the chance to show off their skills and apply for the Blooom Award at www.blooomaward.com. After the application period, a five-member jury will select the ten best works among all submitted applications. Last year 1,125 creatives from 55 countries applied for the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER, which has committed to active fostering of artistic talents.
