Deerhoof + Chris Cohen at Festsaal Kreuzberg on November 22nd

On Thursday November 22nd the San Francisco based band Deerhoof will be taking the stage at Festsaal Kreuzberg. Supporting the experimental group is former Deerhoof member Chris Cohen.

Deerhoof’s beginnings, including a 2 track cassette of bass and harmonica solos, are strangely normal and even expected given the band’s evolution over the past 18 years. After releasing record after record on alt rock label “Kill Rock Stars”, the band has headed out on another world tour in support of their latest album Breakup Song. The album includes signature Deerhoof features which is to say all expectations are undermined in a thoughtful and original way.

Chris Cohen joined Deerhoof in 2001 for a series of albums and toured with the band as a quartet. Following a few year long stint with the group, Cohen embarked on a solo career releasing many albums while touring as a player with White Magic, Cass McCombs, Haunted Graffiti and Danielson, among others.

A big thanks goes out to the wonderful folks at Festsaal Kreuzberg and Puschen for organizing and putting on what is sure to be an exciting night.
